Dear Ms. Bell,
This is to summarise our telephone call on
Friday, January 16th, regarding your letter attached to the appended
e-mail.
QUB had claimed that it would take a very long
time (100 hours) to copy the data stored on disks. I stated that QUB
had previously been dishonest and that the data on disks could be quickly
copied; I also outlined my reasons. You stated that you were
satisfied with QUB's explanation. You acknowledged that you had not
visited Queen's University Belfast nor seen the data. I offered to visit
QUB with you, to demonstrate that the data could be quickly copied. You
declined the offer, and repeated a couple times that you were
satisfied with QUB's explanation.
I said that I wanted to appeal your
decision. You said that I would need a formal Decision Notice in
order to appeal. I then requested that you send me a Decision
Notice. You said that it would take until the end of next year, at the
earliest, possibly until the middle of the following year, to do so.
I said that I wanted the Notice nonetheless. You agreed to have one sent
to me.
Sincerely,
Douglas Keenan
