Dear Mr Keenan
Your information request to Queen’s University Belfast.
Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding your information request to Queen’s University Belfast.
From your email of 23 May we note that Queen’s University Belfast has now responded to your request and you are appealing their decision via their internal complaints procedure. If after exhausting their internal complaints procedure you remain dissatisfied, you may complain to us quoting the reference number on this letter.
Regarding the delay in responding to your information request this has been recorded on our systems, and we will continue to monitor the situation, as we do for all public authorities. In cases such as this where the Commissioner feels that the delay in responding is a relatively minor breach of the Act, the Commissioner does not consider that serving a formal decision notice would serve any strong public interest. Although the Commissioner does not intend to issue a formal notice in this case, your concerns have been taken seriously. Thank you for bringing this matter to the attention of the Information Commissioner.
As you state that you do not require us to undertake any actions at this time, this case has now been closed with the delayed response element showing as ‘withdrawn’ on our records.
I have enclosed a fact sheet explaining our approach to handling complaints. If you have any questions about this please contact our Helpline on 08456 30 60 60 or 01625 545745 if you would prefer to call a national rate number, quoting your case reference number.
Yours sincerely,
Trevor Craig
